Solution

Seawater conditioning for oilfield injection

Preparing seawater for a specific injection use, through pretreatment, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and deoxygenation, following a design plan configurable for each project.

Need it addresses

In oil recovery operations, seawater is often conditioned before being injected into the reservoir to maintain pressure or support secondary recovery. This solution prepares seawater to the quality and condition required for that specific use — it does not treat produced or congenital water, which is a different need (see the corresponding solution).

Documented process

Pretreatment, ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF) and a deoxygenation tower, integrated into a compact design intended for platforms with limited space. The exact order and scope of each stage are adjusted to each project's engineering plan.

Capacity reference

A documented design plan contemplates an inlet flow of 410 m³/h and an outlet of 240 m³/h of water conditioned for injection, with a reference seawater quality (salinity ≈35,220 mg/L) and a residual dissolved-oxygen criterion of ≤0.05 mg/L. This figure corresponds to an engineering design plan — it is not presented here as an installed or operating plant; each project defines its own flow rate, stages and conditions based on its location and requirement.
